Oh The Chil'ren
It's been an absolutely horribly disturbing week for children, gennerally speaking. Though I know that actually it probably isn't that out of the ordinary...i think? Two drowned little boys in Milwaukee. A 2 yr old attacked and 6 yr old killed by a bear in Tennessee. Missing girl found dead in neighbor/would be cannibals house in Oklahoma. Interesting enough he blogged about cannibalism...and where is homeland security when you really need them. Oh the children and these times folks are raising kids in. But I'll settle and blog about something on the upside perhaps if just to uplift my own thoughts on the chil'ren.
So, I was at a parent teacher conference not to long ago. As I observed my daughters writing assignment on the wall outside her class I found the proceeding story by another unnamed student. It was the schools benchmark story from what I presume to be a 4th grader. After reading I just had to have a copy. And what do ya know it ended up on the blog. I have highlighted some of my favorites parts.
On a lighter note...
and so it goes.
Final Draft"My Family"
"My family is very peculiar. They all have different motives and personalities. My mother likes talking on the telephone repeatedly every single day and night. Then sometimes she hates talking on the phone line, then she gets aggravated about it. She ask, "Do you know where the phone is?" many times. I reply, "no."
She is a very two dimensional person. My mother Cathy is also a very fun sometimes. I don't understand my mother all the time because she thinks and does things very different from what I do. My father is sometimes stressed about different working problems. He works and fills out papers sometimes at night. He's nervous about the bills and looks frustrated when he wants me to do better.
I'm satisfied with anything I get. My uncle Johnny is not always satisfied sometimes because he asks for something almost everyday. I like eating and playing basketball. I like going over to my cousins house because its fun over there. I also collect new quarters because they might be valuable in the future.
My brother is really strange to me. He loves playing cd's out loud in his car and if he gets a scratch on his automobile he will try to get it fixed immediately. He loves playing his playstation at his house. My brother is very polite and kind. My grandmother is wise and satisfied with what everyone gives her.
My grandma Bessy is my favorite grandmother, because she turns everything that is a problem into something good. I think my family is weird sometimes but that's what makes them who they are."

His (or her) family doesn't sound that weird to me. Then again
MY family
IS weird! So most seem normal more often than not.
Oh, for the parents out there...peep how your kids observe you yo! Watch yo back!
