"Ah Ha Hush That Fuss..."
"...Everybody move to the back of the bus." ~Outkast 'Rosa Parks'

Yes, yes y'all you should have know I would choose the mug shot over photo ops. Better way to document the arrest that made an extreme difference in the lives of colored folk today. I always reflect on the strong women that have preceeded me when in times of adversity...today is no different. Now, I was a lil frustrated with all the legal backflips betwix Outkast and Rosa. I don't think she understood that her name alone was a gift in song to a generation that might otherwise overlook the hurdles she became the likeness of a spokesmodel for (for lack of better words). Reminding us in one of the most comunicative of ways...music. Yeah, they should have hit her off with a proper amount of loot too...just out of respect, before hand. But hey, so it goes.
I recieved this e-mail from my homeboi Nappy (luv ya bruh).

My Mom just sent this to me today. I haven't had a chance to talk to her about it but it should be good. Other than that it's raining. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying. Cause ancestors stand on my windowsill playin the song "Raindrops are how the most high kisses his children." Thunder claps when he speaks so strong and silent is how I prefer him.

"Older blacks, she said 'have tried to shield young people from what we have suffered. And in so doing, we seem to have a more complacent attitude.'"
The above quotation is from Rosa Parks.
And this is why we need to have another "black revolution." Remember you and I were talking about why so many blacks, especially young blacks, are not concerned with or even aware of current racial injustices? It is the fault of the older generation, my generation. We were so concerned about jumping on board the "equal train" that we forgot to see how long the ride was for.

I can't even write anything to add to the beauty of these words, this exchange from a mother to a son. I often talk to my mother in this mode of consciousness. I believe that Rosa is smiling that there is still dialogue going on to this effect. Seems all that comes to mind is that Rosa added to the quality of life...however inadvertently it was initiated. But the struggle continues and thats what we need to teach our children.
And on that note I just wanna ask yall to go check yesterday's post
