Hair Down.
So I have been able to actually let my hair down. A total of 3+ days with not a worry. I can't remember the last time I could sit and not worry about a bill, a project, a job, my seed, time, or my lack there of love life or something. This weekend my mind wandered into just "BE"ing...a la Com.
Friday I didn't do much of anything but run around and do errands. I dinged up the whip "buttercup". So I had to take her into the shop to get her innards worked on. I did some thangs for ma dukes and my rommie and I went out to eat...Sushi day 2. I started Thursday after I finished all my finals n stuff. 2 A's and a B deserved a lil bit of pampering and celebration. After getting my fill on and sake'd up I proceeded to take my daughter to Forsythe Park (wanna be central park of Savannah) to see the free James Brown show a la my school for it's graduating class. All the Savannians and imported students were out and about. I must say James gets the gassss face from me for not playing "the payback". He didn't do a lot of the hotness from back in the day. I was surprised that ya man didn't have a heart-attack with his 72 year ol ass. But it was cool. I ran into this brother I've been trying to steal a 5 minute convo from. *smirks* I got home feeling full. Full with life.
Saturday, I slept til like 5pm. All that built up exhaustion and stress I guess. I barely slept at all last week. I love how my seed is old enough to know not to eff with me when I'm in these comatose states. She manages to keep it low and feed herself...it's a beautiful thang. But I got up and proceeded to put in my mommy time. I suddenly got an epiphany...you need to get out Ma. So I proceeded to put on some heels and a skirt and get myself in the mix. I was gonna go to the open mic but the info got all confused and I thought it was moved. I linked up with a homie from school that was leaving on Sunday. She had me all up in the gay bar. Good music and good drink but not to much flirting for me out on mode. Great conversation I must say. One of her homies had just graduated and was a fashion major. I got a lot of helpful information about the politrix of the fashion department and many things I was curious about explained. I do however have issues with people that are like "they are a good person for you to get to know" you know that browbrown-nosingnosing shit. If your good peeps thats a reason to know you. I don't give a ish if your moving to LA to work with Tom Ford. But, I had my fill when she was like we are going to the gay club down the way. Thats where I had to stop. Fag hags are interesting individuals. But I proceeded to my usual spot. I see I've grown a bit since I first moved here. I started off trying to check out the clubs...*hurling goes here* Mind you I love a hot party but I've never been able to be mutated to a crunk listening country chicken. So now I settle for a lil bar where I have a rapport with the owner and can get away with playing what I want to hear ere now and then. BUT this night they were playing the headbangers stuff and my peeps was out of town for the weekend. So I left...rolling dolo like I like to do. Walking to my car trying to figure out the next move I hear one of my fav individuals hollerin at me. The infamous
Clinton D. Powell (<---click) I was trying to run into CP earlier but got confused by his flyer remember. Anyhow to make a long story short I rolled with CP and got to hear some fly live underground hip hop and watch my folks get live on the open mic. Ish they even played some pharcyde in the intermission *puzzled*. After that I enjoyed the company of one nameless individual for late night SUSHI & SAKE (yes again) and really some mellow time which isn't always characteristic of out interaction...and thats all for that evening. *wink*
Sunday, I got up and took my youngin to the anual gullah festival in South Carolina. There wasn't much going on but it was a nice drive and I stocked up on oils! I even found my elusive "sweet smell of success" oil that I usually have to go to NYC to get. I came home, did my rampage running people over on grand theft auto and proceeded to go right back to sleep.
Twas a WONDERFUL WEEKEND!
I think I'm gonna go catch me a matinee of "Sin City"
totallysatisfied.
