Unfathomable
Untitled (for now)
We ignore
tsunami's
oceans full of grief
beached dead
wails from the picture tube
and we ignore
momma earth
scolding us with
100ft tall spitballs
swells of H20 chatisement
flailing from her mouth
and penny pinching conglomerates
lack enough compassion
to rebuild dreams and soothe the mourning
and we ignore
cause it ain’t my
5 chil’rens
husband and parents
uncles, brothers, nephews
aunties, sisters and nieces
being bulldozed
into pool sized pits of despair
leaving me alone to watch
my crib still stands
but the sands displace millions
the ocean didn’t swallow me
and it’s calm
in the sea next to me
disbelief is easy
and to fathom is further
than the miles that separate fates
why wonder how
wheres Bill Gates
and Dubai & Saudi's now
and we ignore
with beats, streets, j.o.b’s
art, making marks, and diamonds
sex, checks, and credit cards
gift wrapped in holy daze
why bother being amazed
by 100k blazed like stardust
too busy
lining up ducks in a row
to blou blou bang bang
and add to the funeral pire
we is wired
to news and views
far removed
and we ignore
cause the still there skyline implores
(a)pathetic identities
caught in ambiguity and anonimity
distracted antics and acquisitions
who wants to switch positions
and get closer to God
by means of odds and wagers
on futures in sutures
and in others stitches unraveled
better yet lets marvel
at abilities to turn the other cheek
to look in another direction
where the impression of reflection
is more confections
as we ignore
the bitter aftertaste
of life.
