Quiet should be kept?!

Sitting here in the quiet of my home listening to the rustling of the spanish moss outside my window, I write. My mother is away and my daughter is at school. There is just me and my thoughts. Shoot I'm not even agitated with the fact that my browser just crashed on me and I'm having to type this again. Oh well, the original thought stream was clear thus that isn't that hard with little anxiety on my plate today.

I found the loophole in the matrix!!! I can up my online store without a gatdamn checking account. I now have the building blocks and all that’s left is to stack them. I am excited! So hopefully yall will see that link up sooner than I expected.

I've had video nights the past couple of nights. I actually watched a movie at 5:30am this morning after I woke up in the middle of the night. Here's my 2 cents.

The Butterfly Effect **1/2 stars
I liked the concept of fixing the past with your mind in this one but really the 1/2 was deducted for the dumb ass ending!!! Ashton pulled it off but the ending was just retarded to me. Made me think about how silly it is to want to go back and changed ish on my life. Everything happens as it should.

BAADASSSSS! *** stars
I thought the actual movie wasn't all that great but I give Mario props for honoring his fathers art and passion. I took from this an appreciation for an artist plight to get their idea into the world by any means necessary. My favorite part of the whole movie was the last still of Melvin, spoke volumes. I can dig the effort to put something into the world that matters (in response to a previous post I was ranting about art and its purpose/interpretation)

While Oleander *** stars
A great story about an incarcerated artist single mother and her daughter left to deal with life on the outside. This one gave me a personal appreciation for my plight to be a good mom as well as maintain my artistic identity. Definitely allowed me some space to, even more than I do, appreciate that challenge and how it has positively effected my relationship with my daughter.

Good flix for the most part.

Last, I have spent some time thinking about the gossip in my life over the past 3 years. I find it amazing that this hasn't been a factor in my life until now. Hmmmmm, funny I do know why (whole ‘nother post).
But really I have learned over this time that gossip is such a negative and counter-productive action.
If it had a physical face this is what it would look like

But I received this in an e-mail at one of the most gossiping environments I've been exposed to, my last plantation (job).
Stew and use this if you ever find it necessary.

THE TRIPLE FILTER TEST

In ancient Greece, Socrates was reputed to hold knowledge in high esteem.
One day an acquaintance met the great philosopher and said, "Do you know
what I just heard about your friend?"

"Hold on a minute," Socrates replied. "Before telling me anything, I'd like
you to pass a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test."

"Triple filter?"

"That's right," Socrates continued. "Before you talk to me about my friend,
it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you're going to
say. That's why I call it the triple filter test. The first filter is
Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me
is true?"

"No," the man said, "actually I just heard about it and..."

"All right," said Socrates. "So you don't really know if it's true or not.
Now let's try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are
about to tell me about my friend something good?"

"No, on the contrary..."

"So," Socrates continued, "You want to tell me something bad about him, but
you're not certain it's true. You may still pass the test though, because
there's one filter left: the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to
tell me about my friend going to be useful to me?"

"No, not really."

"Well," concluded Socrates, "If what you want to tell me is neither true
nor good nor even useful, why tell it to me at all?"

This is why Socrates was a great philosopher and held in such high esteem.
