Mind Me No Nevermind

I don't think people actually read this thing anyway. I don't think that's my motivation for ranting anywhoo. Whomever does pass through sho don't have nothing to say...ha ha...am I laughing last...I usually try to.

I read this interesting story about this 20yr. old upstate NY kid that has been living, yes LIVING in one of the libraries at NYU. Quite an interesting story. The drive is admirable as well as the contentment with so little and the lack of that capitalistic thinking that plagues our society. So this kid been hustling on a level that should make your local con man look like a total slacker without a cause. Just as I am writing this with the intention to plug the blog this kid was maintaining I see the site has been taken down. So if your curious go check the story. Or better yet check out Steve's site. But the point is that the drive moved me as well as an appreciation for struggle. Though I wonder how many minority college students deal with the same problem of the lack of resources to be a degree candidate and DON'T get the $$$ or housing...I myself close to being one of those people.
Whatever
and Africa is still starving
"...and so it goes."

Then I read in the news today of a 15 yr old Alaskan boy that was on one of those "you a bad kid now camp" hook-ups. Yo this kid woke up in the middle of the night to a bear at his feet. Of which bit him and peep, this fool started boxin the gatdamn bear...GANGSTA! Yea and when he tried to escape the bear went to biting on him some more and check, this kid started boxing again...GANGSTA. Yo he makin Tupac, 50, hustlers, gangs look like drag queens caught out the west village. SAY WORD! Needless to say the kid escaped the jaws and got away by blowing a canned horn in the bears grill...talk about tooting your own horn huh. But really the insight is strength, perseverance...the lack of acceptance for fate at any given time...essential to survival? Oh they later found the bear and killed her?
"...and so it goes."

I'm a news addict. I enjoy seeing how whacked out our world is becoming. I was thinking bout times where Atari's frogger was the shiznit, and how you weren't nothing without a pager...What ever happened to sky pagers? A time when roller-skates were not inline. When cable was one channel - HBO. When 2 toned lee jeans and sasoon were must haves. When there wasn't an announcement before the movie to turn your phones off. I still haven't gotten use to walkin and talking on the phone and it still weirds me out not to have a house phone...damn remember when there was no call waiting, let alone 3 way. We use to actually USED payphones and they cost a dime - to call back your pages. Remember pager codes? Those were the ones you called back...lol The subway was 75 cents at one point. Do people still have house parties or am I just out the loop. I aint been to one yet like the ones in Jamaica back in the days. Ahhhhhh nostalgia...it keeps me recognizing the degradation of culture generally speaking. We have turned into the biggest bunch of lazy ass muthaphuckas...does this happen with age or is it a general digression of this global society we live in
"...and so it goes."

OK when will the government and men in general step off our uterus? Why we got all these political shmucks trying to say what a woman can and cannot do with her coochie. Still stuck in this misogynistic time warp. And we still believe we have rights, generally speaking?
whadeva
"...and so it goes."

What about the gatdamn UNCOUNTED VOTES...we went from the presidency to "idol". Are we seeing a precursor to the upcoming elections. OH GOD I DON'T THINK I CAN TAKE ANOTHER 4 YEARS of that stoopid mo fo that's just pimping this country, I don't know if we will survive another term...BUT HEY AREN'T YOU SICK OF 2$ a gal. gas. I'm so sick of that stoopid look Bush gives whenever he's caught out there on some dumb *ISH. Its the same look my dog gives me when he wanna act confuse in the process of getting chastised. I HATE THAT *ISH!!!!
"...and so it goes."

But I love life. Especially when I just beat 2 of the 4 tickets I got in one day a few weeks ago...whupeeee! 2 to go! I seem to muster enough in life to be extremely grateful for and humbled by.

I guess that means the world has my permission to keep spinning.

keep it movin!
