Superficial vs. Substance?!
I was reading an old blog of mine and I found this
I was frustrated with my socio-economic position (or rather lack there of), like lots of days....My mother`s response to my duress was that my frustration was just me getting upset at NOT being IN the MATRIX a.k.a "the MACHINE" which made me think of this quote:
"You are more desirable as a servant of the machine than a free thinker." ~De la Vega
Oh the wonderful toys. See the machine is a straight set up. See we are tricked into working on these plantation (jobs, yea like we really free) and are enticed by the wonderful toys and high standards of living created by shows like "cribs". We are led to believe that we are what we own. Our worth is determined by our income, car and house. We are accepted if we have x amount of ice and y kind of clothes. If you ain't flossin then you just ain't. The aquisition of such things keep us at unhappy jobs and in compromisable situations...all just to aquire the things. We get caught in the credit game and loans, further keeping us slaves to the machine never quite reaping the rewards of time we've invested. Its just all about the superficial. And we spend a lot of time worrying about what we don't have vs. appreciating what we do have. Many of use do practically anything to get the goods including poisoning communities, thuggin, killin, running for president to name a few. And I sat and thought about this most of the weekend. I've had my share of adversities this year so far. Lots of times the issue isn't what things can't I purchase but rather which bill will get skipped. And everytime I think of what wont get paid I reflect on the reality that I have a "bebe daddi" that has vowed and promised not to assist or support his firstborn child by any means. See for me life can be real simple and basic. Its not the 1000$ earing that I just gotta have. Its bout making sure the basic things dont become big problems. Having a completely absentee parent keeps the gloss off the things. There is no room for superficiality. Its not bout having my bebe in the newest Jordans...it's bout her having some independant self esteem. Its not bout getting support so that I can go to the club...it about gettin it to pay for the daycare. We are not what own and materially posess. We are songs, birthdays, love, support, knowledge and those sort of things. What is tangible is only here as diversions and test. Isn't there a saying that it is more difficult for a rich man to get into heaven than a camel to pass through the eye of a needle. So no I dont want the 6 figure income so that I can have that bentley and mansion. I want it to travel and extract all the non-gloss things from life and the world. I'd rather buy my @$$ outta the 9-5 servitude rather than purchase another "thing". This is what my mother was talking about being as outta the loop as possible though some days comparison with aggitate you. I wanna dip in and out the matrix. But some of us are just content being Cipher and suckin on a bloddy steak gettin mad cows as they dream of being a rock star. I just sit and watch the code waiting for my chance to be free even if it could mean I gotta eat mush and wear old clothes. NOTICE at the end of Dave Chappelle's show the logo he has that accompanies him saying "I'm riiiiiiiiich biiiiiiiiiitch" it's him with some golden shackles. Forget golden shackles glazed with diamonds, I'm tryina get free not switch up the bondage. I'll take some reciprocity and reparations...nothing extra just what I figure I deserve and have worked for.
Speaking of which I wanna thank Babylon/the Matrix for it's glitch in the system. I graciously thank GA state for hijacking my never-gonna-get-it child support from a man that has vowed to be as ignorant as utterly possible in regards to doing what he should responsibly be doing for his kid. This is not only reciprocity but reparations.
